organ donation myths.

Contest Opens: August 22, 2022

Mistakes To Avoid

Contest Do Nots
DLH works with top writers on your favorite shows, including New Amsterdam, Chicago Med, The Resident, and more.

We are a non-profit project of the OneLegacy Foundation, the organ procurement organization for Southern California. Our mission is to partner with the entertainment industry and eliminate the Hollywood Myths that stop people from signing up to be donors.

You can help our mission! As a DLH Storyteller your creativity engages Hollywood to save lives.

A panel of actors, writers and producers will judge your DLH Storyteller submission and winning videos are honored alongside DLH Inspire Winners, which include entertainment industry legends.

The DLH Storytellers contest is open to teens ages 13-19 living or attending school in the OneLegacy service area, seven counties in Southern California: Kern, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino.
Donation myths and misconceptions stop people from signing up to be donors and many of the myths come from Hollywood. You can help save lives!

In under a minute, debunk one or more of the common organ donation myths such as:
  • Money and fame can get you an organ faster.
  • Doctors are more interested in your organs than saving your life.
  • You can sell an organ to make money.

Use quality resources to debunk your myth(s):
Submissions meeting our basic guidelines will be uploaded to YouTube to be streamed publicly and reviewed by our panel of celebrity & medical judges. Winners will be announced in December and be part of the 2023 DLH Inspire Awards.
